Nuera Dental Center offers dental exams & teeth cleanings. Oral hygiene is necessary for eliminating bacteria in the mouth, which can build up to form plaque that can harden and lead to long-term ailments such as gingivitis (a mild form of gum disease) and periodontal disease if it is not removed. Along with your regular oral home care and maintenance, we recommend regular professional cleanings, fluoride application, and General checkups to ensure that your teeth and gums remain healthy. While home maintenance and cleaning like brushing and flossing is important to your overall oral health, it focuses only on the areas above the gum line. A professional cleaning is able to clean your teeth not only above the gum line, but below the gum line as well. It is only through cleaning above AND below the gum line that we can help prevent inflammation, infection, decay and tooth loss, and keep your teeth and gums healthy from top to bottom!

How Often Should I get a Regular Teeth Cleanings & Dental Checkup?
At Nuera Dental Center, we recommend that on top of brushing and flossing twice daily at home, patients get a complete dental exam and teeth cleaning every six months, though once a year at a minimum. We recommend getting teeth cleaning performed twice annually as a preventative measure, but every 3-4 months for periodontitis sufferers or those with certain chronic conditions. It is important to keep in mind however, that each person is different, and you should consult with our team to decide how often you should be examined. We may suggest that you visit more frequently based on factors such as smoking, frequency of cavities, and genetic susceptibility to tooth and root decay as well as gum disease.
It should be noted that gum disease cannot be completely reversed, but regular teeth cleanings are the best way to effectively halt progression.
